Drain Cleaning

Drain Cleaning Service in Las Vegas

Your Las Vegas drain didn't clog because of a grease ball. It clogged because 16 to 22 grains per gallon of dissolved minerals have been coating the inside of your pipes for years. That calcium layer narrows the pipe, traps debris and creates blockages that a $9 bottle of Drano won't touch. We use hydro jetting to blast the mineral scale out — not just punch a hole through the clog.

Three Ways We Clear Las Vegas Drains

Snaking

A motorized cable with a cutting head that pushes through the clog. Works for hair, soap and soft blockages. Doesn't remove mineral scale — just punches through it. Good for a quick fix. Not a long-term solution in Las Vegas.

$150 – $300

Hydro Jetting

3,000 to 4,000 PSI water blasts everything off the pipe walls — grease, mineral scale, tree roots, debris. Restores the pipe to near-original diameter. The right choice for most Las Vegas drain problems.

$350 – $600

Camera Inspection

A waterproof camera on a flexible cable shows us exactly what's causing the clog, where it is and what condition your pipes are in. We use this before major work to avoid surprises. Also smart for home buyers.

$150 – $250

Why Las Vegas Drains Clog Differently

In Houston or Atlanta, a clogged drain is usually grease and hair. Buy a snake at Home Depot, run it down the pipe, problem solved for 6 months. Las Vegas is different.

Lake Mead water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium through every pipe in your house. When that water evaporates or cools, the minerals deposit on the pipe walls. Over months and years, that layer hardens into calcium carbonate — essentially limestone growing inside your plumbing.

A snake punches through the clog but leaves the mineral layer intact. The pipe is still narrowed. Debris catches on the rough mineral surface. You're clogged again in 3 to 6 months. Hydro jetting strips the mineral layer off the pipe walls and restores flow. That's why it costs more and lasts longer.

Removes mineral scale No — pushes through it Yes — blasts it off walls
Removes grease Partially Completely
Removes tree roots Small roots only Yes
Lasts 3–6 months (Las Vegas) 12–24 months

Drains We Clean

Kitchen Drains

Grease + mineral scale = concrete-hard blockages. Kitchen drains in Las Vegas clog faster and harder than anywhere else. Hydro jetting is almost always the right call for kitchen lines.

Bathroom Drains

Hair and soap scum wrapped around mineral deposits. Snaking usually works for bathroom sinks and tubs. If the clog recurs within 3 months, the mineral layer needs hydro jetting.

Main Sewer Line

The 4-inch pipe that connects your house to the city sewer. Tree roots, mineral buildup and years of accumulated debris. Camera inspection first, then hydro jetting. Main line clogs cause sewage backup — don't ignore slow drains throughout the house.

Floor Drains

Garage and laundry room floor drains collect sediment, lint and mineral deposits. They back up during monsoon season flash floods. Clean them annually to prevent sewage backup during heavy rain.

Preventing Drain Clogs in Las Vegas Homes

Preventive maintenance in Las Vegas means fighting mineral scale before it chokes your pipes. A water softener is the single best investment. It removes calcium and magnesium before they enter your plumbing system. Without a softener, every gallon of Las Vegas water leaves a thin film of minerals inside your pipes. Multiply that by the 80 to 100 gallons your household uses daily and the scale accumulates fast.

If you already have a softener, make sure it's working properly. Check the salt level monthly. A softener running on empty is the same as no softener at all. The resin bed needs regeneration — if your water starts feeling hard again (soap doesn't lather well, white spots on dishes), the resin may need replacing. That's a $200 to $400 service call that saves thousands in pipe repair.

Kitchen drains need the most attention. Never pour grease down the drain — not even "a little bit." Grease cools and solidifies inside the pipe, bonds to the mineral scale layer and creates a concrete-hard blockage. Wipe greasy pans with a paper towel before rinsing. Run hot water for 30 seconds after washing dishes to flush residual grease past the trap.

Bathroom drains benefit from a mesh hair catcher over every shower and tub drain. Hair wraps around mineral deposits and creates a mass that grows with every shower. A $3 mesh screen prevents 90 percent of bathroom drain clogs. Clean it weekly.

Schedule professional drain cleaning every 12 to 18 months. Think of it like an oil change for your plumbing. Hydro jetting once a year strips the mineral scale before it narrows the pipe enough to cause problems. The cost of one preventive hydro jet ($350 to $600) is less than a single emergency drain call on a Sunday night.

Drain Cleaning Questions

How much does drain cleaning cost in Las Vegas?+
Snaking: $150-$300. Hydro jetting: $350-$600. Camera inspection: $150-$250. Main sewer line: $300-$900 depending on method.
Why do my drains keep clogging?+
Hard water mineral scale narrows your pipes from the inside. Debris catches on the rough mineral surface. Snaking only punches through — it doesn't remove the scale. Hydro jetting strips it off and restores pipe diameter.
What is hydro jetting?+
High-pressure water (3,000-4,000 PSI) blasting everything off the pipe walls. Removes grease, mineral scale, tree roots and debris. More thorough than snaking and lasts 2-4x longer in Las Vegas.
How often should I have drains cleaned?+
Every 12-18 months for preventive maintenance. Every 12 months if you don't have a water softener. Main sewer line inspection every 2-3 years for homes over 20 years old.
Can I use Drano?+
Works on organic clogs (hair, grease) but does nothing against mineral scale — which is the main problem in Las Vegas. Can also damage older pipes. Fine for a temporary fix on a slow drain. Not a real solution.
